Air Medical
With Flying Nurses International's Air Medical services, you can be assured of one thing - only highly-professional and trained RN flight nurse will escort your loved one to the desired destination point. It has been often observed that unskilled or untrained flight nurses accompany, and actually end up harming the patient on board. This makes hiring of nurse escort services not just futile, but also counterproductive. However, all the flight nurses with Flying Nurses International are critical care and emergency medicine registered. Most of them are bilingual, licensed and actively practice within the United States. They are specially trained in aviation physiology, airline logistics and aircraft safety.
As part of its air medical services, Flying Nurses International also offers air travel consulting services. Most of our clients prefer to entrust us with all the travel plans and arrangements for the patient. Catering to this segment, we provide full assistance in securing an air transport service that meets their medical needs. After determining the medical transport needs of the patient and consulting with the health care provider, we advise the safest and most cost effective form of travel. Of course, the final decision rests with the client but on our part; we ensure that the client gets maximum benefit at the lowest possible expenditure.
Our comprehensive air medical services also include coordinating with the patient's doctor in order to secure written medical clearance that is required by most major airline carriers. The next step is to coordinate with the ground and air staff of the airline so that all the medical supplies needed by the patient, like oxygen, wheelchair, IV fluids, ambulation assistive devices, and other specialized medical equipments, are allowed on the flight. All the patient's needs are taken care of on board by our RN flight nurse who ensures that the comfort and requirements of the patient are not compromised in any manner whatsoever.
The air medical services from Flying Nurses International cater to the patient from bedside to bedside. All treatment administered in-flight (or during the time the services of our nurse subsist) follows medical orders provided by the primary care physician of the patient. Emergency treatment is performed in accordance with the American Heart Association Basic Life Support Standards. On the request of the patient, we can also assist in obtaining confirmation of insurance benefits.
All our air medical services are billed in an itemized manner so that the client has full knowledge about the individual costs involved in air transportation.
